2. How We Use Your Information

Process purchases, generate licenses, and deliver downloads
Calculate and distribute Author earnings and process payouts via Stripe Connect
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access

Send transactional emails (order confirmations, payout notifications, security alerts, product update alerts)
Run automated review checks on submitted products (malware scan, secret detection, license compliance, etc.)

With Authors: Buyer name and email for license management and support purposes
With Payment Processors: Stripe receives payment data to process transactions and Stripe Connect handles Author payouts
With Service Providers: Hosting, email delivery, and analytics services that operate under strict data processing agreements
For Legal Compliance: When required by law, court order, or government request
For Safety: To protect against fraud, abuse, or threats to safety

4. Data Retention

Active account data is retained as long as your account exists
Deleted account data is removed within 30 days (except where retention is legally required)
Financial records are retained for 7 years for tax and accounting compliance
License verification logs and server logs are retained for 90 days
